: Well made some progress on my brako (pics)
Sillyneck 03-11-2004, 07:20 PM now this isn't supposed to be an extreme rig, but will be a capable wheeler and great driver. the body was too nice to cut to hell but I still managed to move the front axle 3" forward and the rear will go back 3" when I put the f/w in tomorrow. don't laugh at the tie rod....just for mock up purposes. the bumpers are not common sillyfab® work....they bolt on (amazing)....as oppossed to the usual - getting welded on like a bastard. :D

oh you'll love this. well I wanted the axle w/ the non- cast bushing mounts so I could cut them off. well the axle I got was cast....but I got it for next to nada so I came up w/ a new set up. I figure all the c-bushings will do is save the heims a little :)

nope no kids that I know of. :) chico is the bronco owner/shop owner capitol of the world. there's 26 broncos in this town alone. :) and at least half those guys have shops.
I believe you are thinking of mike payne. builds coil systems w/ radius arms all over the place. uses a muffler tubing bender for cages etc. his shop is near me.
muddinmike 03-12-2004, 10:44 AM Is there something wrong with useing a mufler tubing bender for bending cages? I have a guy at a muffler shop that I was gonna have help me with a cage, But his is a muffler tubing bender..........

nothing particularly wrong w/ it, just style. you end up w/ either a wrinkle bend or a big indent where the bend is made rather than a much smaller one w/ a pull style bender.
scottylook 03-12-2004, 12:43 PM Looks good Phill. I now have a bronco you built a cage in and a front and rear bumpers. Got it from Demo and sergei, he's down is San Fran. I like the work and get tons of questions about it.

OK Senor Silly,
Nice looking rig. Should be interesting to see how your heim joint radius arm works out, it's pretty unique.
Quick question for you. I have to bob my front fenders in the coming days (35's rub), and want to know if yours are straight across, or did you cut them long and roll them under? My rear fenders I cut them long and didn't like them rolled, so I chopped them straight. Still debating with myself for the front. I've got a real straight body on mine too. Suggestions?
Not sure if I can post a pic yet or not, but here goes :

Sillyneck 03-12-2004, 02:56 PM the front on mine is going to need some serious trimming becuase I moved the front axle forward. it rubs when straight under full stuff. when turned it would never work. right now it has flares which set the pattern for ya. if you cut to that pattern then you'll be fine. whether you want to cut it flush under the lights that's up to you. depending on the bumper you have I say the more body u leave the better. if this was a beat up bronco I have I would have flat fendered it front and rear followed by a 110" wheelbase :)
