3.73 and 3.45 are the most common

4.10s are a possibility too

i'd bet money you have 3.45s. it seems to be the most common ratio with a 5spd

Nope, D28 and 7.5s were 3.45 gears. If they're out there have yet to see a set that was 3.54s. My D28 and 7.5 (damn toothpicks  ) are both 3.45 gears

my project rig that's fixin' to have a d44/9" swap w/ 4.88's has 3.45's w/ 30x9.5's and a 5spd. and you have to ride the clutch to take off in high range.

I just picked up a '90 with the 5-sp and it has 3.73 gears in it. I'd bet the 3.73s are more common in the later ones.

And yes, those axles (especially the front) are toothpicks. Don't bother putting $$ into those things at all. (very late '90 ones have a decent front though (HP D35).

I have an 89 2.9l 5speed and it had 3.73 in them. I also had the stock LS if that helps. I think that 3.73 was an option with the LS.
