Ok, on my tranny swap I've been lookin' for all the things I need. I am now at the point of buyin' a flywheel. I have one from the 79 F150 with a 300 and I also have a chance at buyin' one from an 80's F-150 with a 351.
It's goin' on an 84 351W. My question is I want the 11" clutch...will the flywheel from either work? Is so should I just resurface the 300 and balance it or buy the 351 flywheel for 50 and shipping?
Thanks guys, Phil.

the 300 will work if you get it rebalanced to the 351
the 300 has a nuetral balance
the 351 has a external 52 oz weight on the flywheel
prolly run you about the same as getting the 351 flywheel
but it would be all done

Infoford....I thought the 351's had the 28oz but either way, what I'm askin' is will the flywheel that had the 10.5" clutch accept an 11" clutch. If so I'll just buy the 351 flywheel and sell the 300. Thanks, Phil

the older 351 and 302 had the 28 oz the newer late 70s or early 80 they went to the 52 oz
you can always get the flywheel drilled to fit the 11"
since you need a clutch anyways buy the 11" stuff and set it on the flywheel and see if it will fit
or sell it and get the 351 whatever works for you

I believe the correct answer is:
300 - neutral balance
early 302 - 28oz imbalance
late 302 (84+) - 50oz imbalance
351W - 28oz imbalance
I've never seen anything describing 351W imbalance changing or a 52oz imbalance until today.
