I have an 85 model Bronco w/ a 9". I might pick up a 9" from a 79 Bronco for spare parts cheap, but need to know if they are the same? axle bearing size? axle length? axle spline count (31)? bearing mounting plate pattern?

It would be nice to pull one of the axles and carry it as a spare if everything is the same, and then have the third in the shop also if mine breaks.

im pretty sure there both big bearing and all the rest is the alike you should be fine swappin parts...if im wrong shoot me :flipoff2:

yes, they are all the same, just like the one in my 89' ;)

I have an 89 with one in it, When I was swapping it in there I had an 81 and a 79. Both are 31 spline, but one had a smaller bolt circle for the axle shart. This can be fixed with a die grinder and some washers though. The rest should be the same.
