:bounce: I have been thinking about getting a Power Tank.I realized the other day that I have a 2500# 80 cu.foot compress air scuba tank that I used for my paintball.does anyone know how long 2500# in a scuba tank would last on the trail?I tried to E-mail Power Tank but it wouldn't send.I noticed almost everything is covered on this site so I wanted to test the waters and ask a decent question.Hopefully I have challenged the best of you with this topic.:usa:

Hey Grumpy fellow diver here I have pondered that Question my self I have got 3 3000psi 80cu tanks my self I dont believe its the
psi but more the cu. I thought that I if could find a regulator to
be able to hook a hose to it air down 1 tire and find how many time you can fill it. I'll see if I can find the formula to figure out
cu of a tire

liquid CO2 is kind of a different animal......it stores at 400psi.....thats about where it quits boiling in the tank.....atleast that's what i gather from mine.....i have a 20 lb. tank from a welding shop.....i just ran out.....but ran air tools for well over an hour (solid run time).....i don't really air up tires since my truck uses the trailer for transportation on the road.....you have to watch out though......it will freeze the regulator if you run it continuously for too long....

My 20#co2 tank is so much heavier than my scuba.(I am trying to stay with as little weight as possible)Also with the compressed air I have no worries about freezing the regulator or tools like I do with the co2.Paintball has taught me much about co2 and its characteristics.:usa:

i don't have a compressor or anything at home.....so i use my 20lb co2 for everyday stuff......probably goin to get a 5 or 10lb to carry in my truck.....has worked out well so far...what type of gas are you going to use?....nitrogen?......the high pressure just kinda scared me carryin it around in my truck......2500# would make a big boom.....:nuke:

Nitrogen would be nice but Co2 is the cheapest. I use to fill Co2, I had a 10,000 gallon reciever. From there I'd fill all shapes and sizes of cylinders.

To go with your big boom concept,A co2 tank sitting behind you would make a big boom egnough to cause severe damage also.I would be using compressed air.NOTHING FLAMABLE!!!:usa:

It's not the flammability but the pressure. CO2 at 400 psi really doesnt do anything exciting when it goes off. I had a safety disk blow on mine and all it did was fill the truck with white (would have been tricky if on hiway) and make loud hissing noise. I have seen full scuba tanks break a valve and those things are missiles!!

Make your own CO2 setup for about $150 and be safe
