Hi all. I was given a 73 ford dana 44 with drum brakes, my question is how do I put disk brakes on it? Thanks

Either swap knuckles out from a 76 - 79 D44, or use '74 -76 Chevy spindles, backing plates and calipers with the Ford hub and rotor.

anyone know if 71 spindles work? Thats a narrow range of years to get the spindles from.

I did the Chevy swap on my '74 Bronco. I tried parts from a 73 chevy at the yard , but the spindles were wrong. They used a bigger bearing so the Ford hubs won't fit. The caliper brackets were good though. I ended up buying new spindles to save the hassle of hunting.

I ordered just the spindles from Wild Horses

I bought everything else new locally, except the junkyard backing plates.

Will this work with 8 lug rotors? I would like to keep the 8 lug to match my 14 bolt ff rear.

Some of those drum brake D44's were also close kunckle kingpins too. So make sure ya know what ya got
(Yes I saw one at the junk yard this weekend, and no I did not take pics)
