Can anyone help me identify which transfercase I have in this wagon? The tag is missing off the case so I have no idea other than its a New Process and has a casting number of C-13687 below the cast in NP insignia. This case is aluminum and kicks out to the drivers side. The shift lever is mark 4Hi-Lock, 4Hi, Neutral, 4Lo. My second questone concerning this case is does anyone make a part time kit fore it? Last but not least, Is it any good?

Thanks

Your transfer is good. Why would you want parttime?

np219 quadratrac. no one makes a part time kit for that case. just install manual hubs and run it in 4HI lock all the time with the front disconnected. i wouldn't recommend running 4hi PT with unlocked front hubs.

it's a pretty good case.

Thanks for the info WillyPete, makes me feel a little better about its reliability. In responce to Ricks question. I want to run a locked front diff and still be able to steer it on pavement. The locking hubs solution cures that problem.

Thanks again

No Quadratrac in 1980, if it goes out the drivers side in the front it should be a 208. Just put locking hubs on it.

1980-1983=np219 quadratrac
1981-1991=np229/228 selectrac
1980-1987=np208 command trac
1973-1979=BW1339 or BW1305 quadratrac

perhaps i should clarify a bit... the np219 is a pretty good case as long as you don't put anything larger than 33s on it and wheel gently. anything larger than that and you'll want to install a tougher case (D300, np208, np205, atlas, np241, etc). it's a great case on road and in the snow though.

it's a full time/part time case, so it has extra [breakable] parts. for day to day use and weekend wheeling, it's a good case though, especially with the PTHI and PTLO options. FTHI is great in winter. if you want better gas mileage with the same drive options, get a np229 or 228.
