Damn! That's awesome! I should have waited and just bought one of those instead of building one! :)

Powertrain: Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is available with the 4.0-liter PowerTech™ I-6 and either a manual or automatic transmission. The powerful 4.0-liter engine provides 190 horsepower and 235 lb.-ft of torque.

how is this diff. than the existing TJ 6 cyl?

I....should....have.....waited.....to.......buy... ...one
Hmmmm.....should I spend $35,000 for the Rubicon edition or build up my $13,000 '97 TJ..... I think I'll go for the $35,000!!!
Did I really think I could add a rear D60, front D50R, OX lockers, a Corvette LT4, an NV4500, and some other stuff for less than $22,000. Silly me! I feel so embarrassed.....:emb3:

lol....

with present interest rates.... I could buy a new one and add a lift for less than adding a dana 44 to the front of my existing TJ maybe.

MY 97 Tj is a beater now... I could sell it minus the 35" MTR's. I have everyting the Rubicon has buttttt a Dana 44 front and the upgraded brakes. Also its paid for!

Maybe even just swap the stock rubicon suspension onto the 97 and put the tera lift on the rubicon.... hmmmmmm

A front 44, what's the big deal? The parts on the TJ D30 are the same. Sure, you can go past 4.88 gears if you had a 44 front but other then that, what's advantage do you see with a 44 from Jeep up front? I never see people break ring gears, usually always U-joints which takes out the inner or outer yokes. Stronger you say? In the application where you may need more strength, you would be some real extreme rockcrawling situations, by then, you have spent enough money and got a D60 up front for the 38's.

The point's I like are the Discs in the rear. So when a few start getting wrecked we would be able to bolt one with Disc's right in and have 4.11 gears and the locker in it.

T/C too, I wouldn't mind swapping to the new T-case, I already have the 3550 which it bolts to so I don't think there would be a problem. I could probably get a complete T-case up here for about MAX 1000$. Compared to the cost of a 4:1 kit with installation in CDN dollars, that would be worth it.

They have a fixed yoke as well which is good.

I seriously doubt that the rubicon TJ will cost $35,000. Think about it, you aren't adding the t-case, axles, and tires on top of what is standard, you are getting better equipement as part of a package. It will cost you more than a sport but not that much. Granted the front axle will be the same as the present 30 from the knuckles out but it is still an upgrade. Plus you get factory 4:1, 4.10's, air lockers and best of all, a warranty. I know this may not mean much to the big dogs on 38+ tires but for us guys who have to drive their rigs to work everyday this is huge. Also, did anyone notice that the testing they did and the pics on rockcrawler are at Tellico? That's pretty cool that Jeep really tested this thing in the real world where the guys who buy them will hopefully take them.
