Does anybody know the details on late-model 460 clutches? I've found different clutch part numbers based on whether it's a 4spd or a ZF... apparently the ZF got a 12", and the 4spd just got a 11??

Are the later flywheels drilled for both clutches? Any reason why a 12" clutch wouldn't work in front of a 435?

I also see different pilot bearing p/ns... is the ZF input a different dia at the crank?

Lucky for you i just found all this SHIT out the hard way.

I got a 97 460 that I put to a NP435.

My pilot Bearing is from a 97
My flywheel is from an 83-87
My clutch is from an 83-87

ZF's have a Larger clutch shaft than NP435's
ZF's clutches have 8 bolts holding them to the flywheel.
Pre ZF clutches have 6 bolts holding them to the flywheel.

No the later flywheels are not drilled for both clutches

I got a ZF flywheel here that i ain't got no need for.........

I think i answered all your questions... ohh my crap ain't done yet i just figured all this out 2 weeks ago

Okay, thanks. It sounds like everything should work out if I source it from an 83-87 motor.
