I just finished the scout power steering setup and when im going down the road at about 30mph and faster and hit a bump my front tires start shimmying back and fourth. I checked my wheel bearings and they are tight any suggestions?

What else did you replace when you did the scout steering? Xover steering different arms etc....

check every single bolt, nut, mount, tie rod end etc that is connected to the front suspension or steering. This happens on mine once in a while and it is usually something loose or worn out (tie rod ends, wheel bearings etc).
Check to see if the steering box mount is flexing when you put pressure on it. This happened on a friends truck.

The box is flexing under pressure not a sever amount by anymeans,could this slight movement be the culprit and if so how do I fix it?

Woody (IH8MUD.com) has this scout steering (I'm pretty sure).
If you are out there woody, does your box flex slightly and what did you do to fix it (if it flexes)?

Bet you money its your alignment! Check it and make sure it is just a tiny bit toe out. 95% of the time I would say this is the problem.

My scout box does not flex....I sleeved the frame so you can actually tighten the bolts and not crush anything.

It should be toe IN, not out. The larger your tires, the more toe in you require. I added one turn on one end of my tie rod and it made a huge difference.

Do you run a stabilizer? Tires balanced recently? Check bearing preloads, wheel and "kingpin?" Spring bushings in good condition? Tie rod ends?

Those are the usual culprits....

are you sure it wasnt always doing that??? when was the last time you drove over thirty in that thing. And how would you know. you havent had a spedometer for years

ditto, I went through this a few months ago. I did a number of mods all at the same time (db/ps/sr/hs) so it made it kinda hard to pin point it. the above things are exactly what I addressed. There was a little bit of play in all of the above things. the play and eccesive toe in is what lets it get out of hand. but in my case I think the thinh that "caused" it was un-balancable boggers on rims with a 2" bs

I know it wasnt doing it before because it didnt do it when i flat towed and now it shakes the ol' shaggin waggin like well....Im shaggin.

Hmm if I run mine with any toe in I get the wobble bad, I have to run it just a bit toe out. We are talkn about the front of the tires being further out then the rear in order to get toe out correct?
