hey i have a couple questions about lifting a trooper the cheep way. im havin a buddy make me shackels for the rear and for the front im confused what im to do. i know im supposed to tighten the torsion bars, but how much, is there a key to how many turns equal how much lift, and a ball joint flip, can it be done with out a spacer or new bolts. whats the most lift i can crank out of the t-bars, will i need new shock struts, springs, bushings, what? what about body lifts, are they worth anything. id appreciate any help. thanks

Well, how much lift do you want? If you are only doing shackles in the back..... put those on first, then lift the front to match.
is there a key to how many turns equal how much lift
Its appx. 4 turns per inch of lift.... give or take.
and a ball joint flip, can it be done with out a spacer or new bolts
Yes you can. But if you're only doing a shackle lift in the back and lifting the front to match, I doubt you'll have enough lift to need a ball joint flip... much less the spacers.
whats the most lift i can crank out of the t-bars
Safely? Probably about 3" is the max you should do and still have some down-travel left so its not completely unstreetable.
But, once again, it seems like you only plan to do a shackle lift in the back. You definitely should not make shackles long enough to give 3" of lift...... thats just not safe or smart. If you want a full 3" in back, get some add-a-leafs or spring upgrades, and then make the shackles to lift it up the rest of the way.
i need new shock struts, springs, bushings, what?
You will need longer shocks in the rear, but not the front. For the add-a-leafs and a ton of other great stuff for Isuzus, check out www.independent4x.com For the spring pack upgrades, check out www.darlington-off-road.bigstep.com
what about body lifts, are they worth anything
They allow you to fit larger tires without trimming sheet metal. I did mine to raise the body up enough to put on rock sliders without having them below the bottom of the frame. I don't like the idea of a 3" BL, so I made my own 1.25" one.
