Hell yeah!!
What are you looking to do?

I'm getting into the building stages here in the next few weeks, so I plan to be ready by Memorial day for the coast. My little 31's are almost worn out, so I figured I'd make everything work for a set of 36" IROKs. Ordered them today!!!!
Sucks though, 2 to 3 weeks backordered.

Where do you like to wheel? Got any decent local spots that aren't closed?

Hey Chad ____ I"m not as familar with this area as I should be (4Xing wise),but hell your from Springfield. What about the Cottage Grove area(Bohemia Mine area), I heard it was a good wheeling spot, but I don"t know where the good 4Xing spots are,but hell we,live so close ,let"s go anywhere as long ,its in 4wL. Do you know any local 4Xing buddies ?,they might know some spots "I"m in process of building my rig also, but during the inbetween stages(lack of $$$$) let"s go.4Xing !!! We don"t need an excuse to go 4Xing( DO WE )____ THANKS BAYRUNNER

I went up in the Bohemia mine area in October. Very scenic, but pretty dusty too. It's all going to be under several feet of snow right now, so my worn out swampers and lack of winch might hurt me up there.

There are a few trails up at Shotgun Creek that are still open, but not too much. Same with McGowan Creek. I have a pretty small area that I play at out past Jasper a few minutes. Some hairy stuff, but the overall area is small.

There's other areas towards Sweet Home, and from what I hear, a very good spot out of Crabtree, but I've never been there. What about the dunes?

What are your plans for your rig? What types of wheeling are you into? How hardcore?

Hey Chad _______ I like to keep my rig as versatile as possible
(Expedition style) I don’t want to trailer my rig, I like to drive to where I will be 4Xing and if need be sleep in rig, than drive home. I would say my 4Xing style would be mid-range, and not on the extreme (hard core, rock climbing)I can’t afford braking and replacing parts.I”m at a crossroad with my rig ,I have to make some decisions soon, as far as gearing and tire size, and upgrading driveline component etc. Actually I got my rig recently and have just started buildup, once I decide which way to go with rig, the results will be quick. I have replaced F/R bumpers, so I can use hi-lift jack and put in recovery point on bumpers, also put some nice sliders on too, there strong enough to jack up the rig. In the mean time the lack of having my rig exactly where I want it to be, doesn’t stop me from 4Xing with it.( IT”S THE JOUNEY)Anyway that”s the story and I’m sticking to it. Hope we can get it together _____ THANKS BAYRUNNER

Hey Guys _______ I’m in for going 4Xing, like I said, just got my truck (85runna),it’s a stocker(for now haven’t decided on how I want to set it up yet)I have been doing some engine work, and some cosmetics, it seems to be running o.k. now,. So if you guys don’t mind a stocker (who wills probably be drooling over your rigs) with you along at the end of the line, in case it gets rough, I can turn around. Also I can be a reminder of what it was like” WAY BACK WHEN” before all the $$$$$ spent and modes made, anyway it might be an interesting test to see what a stocker can do with the” BIG BOYS”____ THANKS BAYRUNNER

So if you guys dont mind a stocker

Why should we mind?
You have an excellent platform that can work very well no matter how far you want to go with your mod's.

I'm not too far from stock as I sit right now. I really don't care what somebody drives as long as they're doing what they can with it. People who are afraid to bypass something or turn around if neccesary are stupid.

Getting stuck can be fun, but definitely not the reason to be out.

If you are new to the sport, you will be amazed at what your rig can do in stock form. Then you will start to find the weak spots with it. First will probably be open differentials.
I say wheel it like it is until it
won't do what you want it to anymore. Then start building it to do what you need.

No sense in putting together a bitchin rock rig if the only place you play in is the sand.

Went to the Mud Fest event site this weekend to do a bit of club work on the property. A buddy took his new to him 99 Silverado 2500 HD on 35's through a little bit of stuff. I think he forgot that he wasn't in his old truck on 40's, because he parked it right in one of the worst holes.
I yanked him out backwards, and he went aroud the hole to the hill climbs. Then he proceeded to break both tie rods, one inner end, and both outers. had to leave it overnight to get parts. Man, was his wife pissed.
Got the phone call from Les Schwab's today. TIRES ARE HERE!!!!!!!
Time to get started on this thing. Have to leave town this weekend, but as soon as I get home, it's chop time.

Oh, I am in Cottage Grove, and grew up in the bohemia mines area! Just ask Wheelie_pete, and 4RnrRick!

Well, my sami is about to undergo a "Few Changes" Not enough power, and not tall enough. Once I find a tranny (Toy) and get my crossover steering parts(ifs box, and arms), It's going to get a total drivetrain swap to Toy Stuff.

I will probably be undriveable for a few months, or more depending on $$$$.

But, myself and a few buds, always love going to those hills to play!

Might be doing a noonday run within a month or so, depending on a guy from work!

If you guys are doing Noonday in about a month, let me know. I start hacking on my rig this weekend, and hope to have it up and going in a few weeks. I've been up there only once, and it was in October. Very dusty. I'd like to go with some folks in the spring.

I know Pete would definately want to go on a wheeling / camping trip. Lets all get together soon, and set a date, and do a wheeling / camping trip! Go camp at the old bohemia city (once the snow is gone of course).

Sounds great to me, but I doubt we'll be able to pry Pete out of his garage for a weekend. He sure wants to have Blu running by June, and they have quite a ways to go still. I have no doubt that they can do it, but they need a lot of hours.
Maybe a day run in a month or so, and camp later into summer? Where would you camp? Like I said before, I've only been up there once, so I haven't looked for a spot to camp.

You could rent the old firewatch cabin, or camp right at the old city. Plenty of flat ground there. Plus, in the summer, I know the fire watch tower guy.

Oh yeah, pete and his garage / Blu. It'd be dooable, just take some convincing. He is going to TSF on the 24th, possibly an overnight trip....

Hey guy's I'm from Coos Bay. I had my TJ up Noon Day, Knott trail, Mayflower, and I think part of another trail during the Oregon Trail Jamboree back in OCT. I think.......Anyway I sold the TJ and am just about done with a samurai. SPOA with lifted springs, 36's, 4.56 axle gears, 3.8L chevy V-6, and a sm420 Tranny. Anyway pending no further snags it should be done by the end of the month or sooner. I'd love to do another Noonday run!:D

My samurai hit a couple of little snags but it should be be done by the end of the month. How is the snow up there? I should be up for something in may? I'm going to try and make the rockcrawling thing in Bend on the 15th-16th, but other then that does anyone have like wednesdays and thursdays off?

BTW - SOLV-IT & Oregon Trail Rally will be in TSF the weekend of April 23rd-25th. You can expect it to be extremely crowded.
We are hitting Sand Lake this weekend and working the Rally next weekend. There are still volunteer spots to be filled for the rally if you want to help out.
