Some of us aren't fortunate enough to have our own shop, so we have to make due with a carport.

ahhh yes base housing, I knew the first shirt on first name basis:flipoff2: and my wife was the one in the Air Force.
What I've got for a garage at the moment isn't much better than a car port. Hopefully soon I'll be back in a real shop again.

I'm a carport wrencher. The kids run around the carport barefooted so I try to do all of my metal cutting, grinding and welding out in the back yard next to my shed.

One of the things that bugs the shit out of me is when people have a perfectly good garage and it's a storage space and there is no way in hell your getting a car into it. I grew up in a house without a garage and I hated it. Now that I have a garage it is probably one of the best organized rooms in the whole damn house.

Me too, my father didnt use it for storage but there was never enough room to park a car/truck in it. Too small of a garage with too many tools/benches/lawnmowers hogging up all of the space. Spent a few days working on my car/his car in the driveway in the fuggin rain
Right now I dont have anywhere to work my POS. With my crack head neighbors I am afraid to leave my tools alone for a second. Including parts...

Currently, no, I live in a gated community with 24hr armed patrols through the neighborhood:D:D, but if I lived out in town, ya damn right I would lock my stuff up. This base is safe enough that I usually leave my keys in the Jeep, at the house and at work.

URBNFLX, is that VCT? How durable is it in the shop? Depend on wax?
It sure is...
It's ok in the shop... I mean there are some things that you cant do on it. I always put a piece of plywood under jackstands and anything that could puncture(or leave an impression on) the tile. Welding is ok so far with a mig. the hot embers may cause burns to the wax where it hits, but when you strip the floor it cleans up ok. I did put like 10-12 coats of wax on the floor the first time I sealed it. All in all I am happy with it( it looks great). it cleans up spills nice and didnt cost as much as a pro epoxy job. If I was gonna do another shop I would have someone come in and spray the floors with an epoxy based substance.
