Hey!

A friend wants to put front discs on his '72 LC, and has a line on some factory parts. He was planning to use the mini-truck discs, but might be able to get pieces off a '76 LC. I am wondering which parts he needs off this '76 LandCruiser - I know he needs the spindles, bearings, rotors, and hubs, but does he need the knuckles and the axle shafts too? We'd like to get away with only buying the parts necessary, to help keep down the shipping costs.

knuckles, steering arms, nuts, cone washers, hubs, tie rod,

in Oz, this is what needs to be done, as the disc fronts have bigger arms, different bolt pattern, larger studs, larger cone washers, different hubs, and different knuckles


best to just buy, everything, unbolt the eight bolts, remove the outers(with axles), bolt together, ship, unpack, install on yours
DONE!!

He needs everything you listed and the following
birfields (plus inner axles to make life easy)
Knuckles with arms
"ALL" fasteners, cones and shims
dust covers/backing plates
calipers
Maybe the flex lines if they're in better shape then his

Basically, he would need everything but the housing and third member

He should just do what I'm doing, swapping my 76 front end onto my 75. That would be easier, wouldn't it?

All the hard brake lines and the master cylinder and booster would help keep the hassles down.

I agree. If you swap everything from the knuckes out It makes the swap easy.

if he's running the dual master cylinder set up, make sure he removes the check valve from the front cylinder.
