: driveline swap

I'm starting my first complete driveline swap in my YJ. Currently have 6cyl 258, AX-15, NP231, D30/35.

I currently have an entire Jeep Waggoneer that I will be parting out to replace the driveline in my YJ. AMC 360, TF727 (I will be bolting my current NP231 to the 727) in addition I will be installing a set of Dana 44's from another waggoneer. I'm trying to obtain "everything" I need in order to make this swap as quick and painless as possible.

I know I'm going to have to fabricate:
Motor mounts -
Tranny mount -

I will also need:
Exhaust -- re-use the Y-pipe from the Waggy (or headers I already have?) Waggy has a new flowmaster on it too.
Driveshafts - (I'm planning on measuring the total length of the original driveline vs. the new one to determine if I may be able to put off the axle swap for a while and still keep my factory driveshafts)
Shifter - replacing an AX-15 with a TF727 requires a new shifter (I already bought a shifter for the 3 spd. auto)
Radiator - will the factory size 6 cyl radiator be enough?
Tranny cooler- current radiator is new (less than 1 yr old) it has a built in cooler, will it be enough?

As for axles, rear 44 is in good shape, could probably be run with just new brakes. Front needs all new seals, brakes. I will leave the gearing alone for now (crappy 3.31 but money is tight)

What am I forgetting? I'm sure the list is long, but I'm hoping to get some help from people who have experienced a complete driveline swap in the past.

are ya sure you got an AX-15? might be good to know when you sell all that stock junk.

i take it the np231 has a SYE? also if you dont ahve the AX-15 you have an pugeot tranny that has a 21 spline output. the 727 is 23 I THINK...

might need different brake lines. what size tire you gonna run? you should be able to get away with a 36 or so just driving it but the tranny will create a lot of heat. with a v8 and an auto you shoudl be fine with 4.56's and 36's. i wouldnt really go much bigger in tire than that anyway if you like the skinny pedal.

i doubt that 6cyl radiator will be enough especially if you have a winch in front of the grille. also an auxilarry tranny cooler is never a bad idea.

definately an AX-15. The 231 does not currently have an SYE on it, but I have one sitting on a shelf in the garage. I'm hoping I can get away with the new driveline length being really close to the original (I know I'm probably dreaming) and not install the SYE until after I install the axles (I hope to be able to put that off for now). If I am able to put off the axles then it will be running with 4.10 gears an 31's. If not then I will be running 3.31 gears on 35" tires int he Dana 44's.

you can't tell me that that short little list is everything I will need to do the driveline swap...
