Has anyone here used this kit? If so please tell me what you think about it. Just want to get some feedback before spending $750 on some brackets that i've never seen in person. Thanks

It's a whole lot quicker and probably cheaper in the long run to buy a junk truck for $500 that has the axle you want. Then measure everything out several times to make sure your numbers are right. Then take a few digi pics so you can enlarge and modify pics so you remember how it went together. Than cut out the front of your truck and weld the axle out of the other truck onto it.

There was a guy over on CK5 that did it. Clean looking install. Said it didn't take long at all to do and was very straigtforward. I looked under his truck and it is honestly hard not to tell that it wasn't factory.

Think he goes by ChadH82

If decide to go with the kit beware: ORU is not known as the speediest company around. The kit is great though. Plan ahead.

I was interested in this kit for my chevy 1 ton dually. I called ORU to ask a few questions but noone could. All I wanted to know was how thick and what kind of materials the brackets they were made out of. I am still waiting for a answer from them anone have any idea it looks like 3/16" in the photo:smokin:

They probably will not tell you the thickness of the brackets cause they want you to buy their kit.

3/16" would be plenty if you put the right gussets and braces in. I'd go with 1/4" just cause I like to overkill.

I have done three straight axles myself. It is really easy. I didn't buy any kits. It is pretty easy fabrication. These guys are paying way too much. I have seen the ORU kits break off. I have taken my 89 longbed through rubicon 3 times, and fourdyce once. The only problems I have had are with the factory 241 transfer case. E-mail me and I will give you some pointers. Trevor
