Here's the deal. I found a 1986 all stock Toy regular cab 4x4 for $1000 that I am thinking about buying to re-sell or buy to sell the parts off of. (No he won't take less I tried) It has a 22R with 212000 miles on it. It has a blown head gasket and the right front has been taged but it just has a broken grill and a bent bumper and the stock tires are shot. The book shows 6 hrs to do the head gasket, prob should have a valve job, might as well do the timing chain etc. Do I get ALL of the engine work done for $750.Or just do the head gasket and resell it? Or say F-it and sell parts off it? or Let him keep it. I might add I am in Kansas and while there is a demand for parts here it's nothing like other places so most likely axles, tranny and t-case would have to be shipped some where to sell them. Thanks for helping me decide-Brad:D

If you get it and decide on keeping it I have everything for the IFS (no steering box will be on my runner in the spring) if you need parts.

I would say let him keep it for that price. You wouldn't make that much after the $1000 to make it worth while I don't think. I just bought the same truck for parts '86 22r 5spd P/S it had a bad frame. I paid $200 for it.

Seabass is probably right on with the head gasket call. When I bought mine with the blown head gasket, turns out the temp sender was bad and the guy kept driving it. Cracked the #2 cylinder head in between the valves. No core = bend over and take it! Not worth it for $1000 unless you really want to part it out on Ebay and take your chances. You're probably gonna lose money on parting it out. Unless you really want to build this particular truck, pass on it.
