hey does anyone know where to get aftermarket parts for hard to find bikes? i have an 81 kdx 420 wich is in need of a top end rebuild. the only guy i have found that can get me a piston an ring wants like 175 for both.

I can't imagine Wiseco doesnt make pistons for it... They custom manufacture pistons if they don't have one to fit the specs you give them.

Another thought, have you tried Ebay?

also L.A. sleeve may be able to make you one. i know they will rebuild just about anything with a piston. they've made some custom sleeves for me and located the pistons for me in the past.

because most aftermarket pistons and rings are about $50 or $75. MUCH cheaper than $175.

I've never spent over $100 on a top end even if boring was needed. But then again, I've never had a plated bore either until this new bike I just picked up yesterday.

i have tried calling kawi and its way to much as far as wiesco i didn't realize that they can make them... I know they don't have them listed online. thanks for the info i will check into these sites and see how much i can do this top end for.
