i built a set of twin sticks and put them in my cj5 2 nights ago. i used 1/2 inch round steel bar and bent it the same shape as my stock shifter, made two of those and then made some more brackets to hook it up. it shifts fine and everything. my question is when i drive down the road now if im decelarating hard it makes a quiet kind of chatter sound and then goes away after a second, it sounds like some of the gears in the tcase are just barely nicking eachother. its not realy loud. i was wondering if this was normal or not, it might have been doing the whole time since i got the jeep but i might not have heard it because of right now i dont have a shift boot on my twin sticks yet. it doesnt pop out of gear like some of the threads i read when i searched. so is this normal or is my tcase gonna grenade on me?

mine makes alot of diffrent noises. i dont have that section of floor over the t-case right now, so its hard to hear anything over all the noise.

Mine makes the same noise, I have talked to a few people and they said it was normal with a twin stick, so i would not worry to much about it.:)

Mine did the same thing until I noticed it was actually the shifters, washers and linkage vibrating because the nut/bolt holding it all together had loosened up.

im gettin ready to put in a new clutch too, but ill check the nuts/washers on the linkage, i dont think they could possibly be THIS noisy just rattling around.

As the others have stated, it's pretty normal for me too. :)
