I am posting here and not in the For Sale section because I haven't decided to sell it yet. But I am just considering. And trying to come up with a reasonable price if I do.

It is a SAS 86 4Runner SR5
- 5 speed
- 4" sus
- 3" BL
- ceramic headers
- 2 year old cat
- 2 year old dynoflow
- all custom bent pipe from the headers back
- ARB in the rear
- 4.30 gears
- 4 - 33x12.5x15 PJ's (Set up to run 35's)
- 1 - 33x12.5x15 BFG MT
- 4 Ultra 62 Alloys
- 1 black US Racing rim
- Put a new clutch in last summer
- just put new U-joints on the rear drive shaft
- all new fluids
- V6 brake booster
- V6 brake master cyl
- new clutch master.
- Center consol with rear heater

Body has over 200k on it
Engine and Tran came from a 94 w/ 60k miles (80k now)

What would you pay for it, what would you ASK for it? And should I be shot for just thinking about it?

Nowhere close to what it's worth. It's nearly 20 years old and people have a hard time finding thousands of dollars to drop on a modded rig. Trust me I tried to sell mine late last year. LOTS of tire kickers and emails.

Oh and I'm glad nobody did have the money I would have shot myself.

I hear that! I really plan on retiring it to the garage with the cap of and the doors off. Really use it for what it is....my man toy! Tinker and play with it.

But when I need a "corporate rig" I was just testing the water for $$$

Yeah.... really you never get out what you put into it. I have roughly 4k into my runner w/ motor 1500 of that for the purchase of it. I spent another 2500 on tires and motor rebuild, and to shine it up a bunch... end results: But who would give me 4k for it??? I just figure if it last ten years it beats buying a new truck/ runner and I save on all those payments! Totally worth it to me.

Way to litte information to put a price to it, and with no picture. If I were buying the truck and realized you were from PA with only the info you provided, I would guess somewhere around $2k. Put your salesman hat on and provide the status of the rust, body condition (trail damage), and condition of interior (if any). That is the start of a good sales pitch. Just remember, unless you got a screaming deal and put no $ into it, you might be able to break even. Aftermarket parts dollars are usually dollars wasted if your going for resale.

Thanks for the nice words:D That's my DD by the way... since I got it it's been to Canada twice and all over the west. It had 120k when I got it, but the motor suffered from serious neglect. I have 27k on the rebuild and never skips a beat... just keeps on movin'. Heres what the motor looks like now and should last a good many years... wheeled the piss out of it when I first got it then built an 80 just for trail/ hunting use, so's I could keep this one clean and well kept. I love this rig, and all my other Toyota's.

You could get at LEAST $5k for that in rust country. Nice and clean :)

By the looks of your truck on the website, it looks like a 3-4k truck to me.

Thats just what my gf did... but she bought one w/ all that already done. We paid a pretty high premium at 4500, but motor is off a brand new rebuilt, runs great (minus a TPS issue) It also came w/ a RB Bodylift, lifted springs, shackles and 35"s all of which is/has been sold for about 700. So basically, we got a perfectly running 4runner in great shape, good paint, good body, perfect engine, new tranny and Tcase for 3800. Thats about 6 months of payment on a new truck; and it'll last a bit longer than that ;)

SASToy.... Yeah, it's a sickness...

SR5Dave, it makes sense to me as well to also have a good running old rig w/ zero payments than to have a new rig w/ whopping payments. These trucks will run forever if taken care of properly and never leave you stranded. And, the only payments are gas, maintenance and ins. I vowed never to buy a new truck again after I paid off my last one in 96... I would rather sink a few bucks in a potential truck and just have fun!

I know I like my rigs clean.... just makes it that much easier to do the maintenance on them w/ out having to wade through build up and mud to take care of something. Or... maybe I'm just way to anal for my own good:p Doc says I'm getting better though:flipoff2:
