How much is a lot? In digital form, at least 400-500 60 series pictures...the problem is I took my Photopoint albums down, so I don't have the pictures available for display...is there anything IN PARTICULAR that you're interested in?

Yo Henry - do you have any pics of the yellow and white bobbed pig on 38's? I want Captn. Shacky to see them - he is acquiring dogwalker's pig this Thursday. Thanks, Andy

If you have any, some pics of a bobbed 62 would be cool, any 60's with coil suspension and any others you think stand out.

I've never seen a bobbed FJ62, only a couple of FJ60's. The only one I have pictures of is my friend Renzo's, the orange one pictures above. I can dig up pictures of a yellow FJ60 with 80 series axles and coil suspension swapped in....

Hi all,

While we're on pics, do anybody have some of 45 troopies lifted with BIG tires. I hate them with little tires, but love them with big wheels...

Bye,

Denis

Here's one of my friend Renzo's bobbed FJ60 for your viewing pleasure.

As for the FJ40, it still eludes me! I seem to have a knack for finding Land Cruisers and placing them with friends, but so far, I haven't found the right FJ40.

That FJ60 has more than 800,000 kilometers on it, Renzo is one of the top expeditioners in Venezuela, and he and the truck have been all over South America. He led the expedition that opened the trail to Manapiare, TWO weeks across the northernmost section of the Amazon jungle to an isolated border town in the gold fields of San Salvador de Paul.

It's got no rear seat, the whole back of the truck is storage drawers and cubbies full of parts/tools/gear.

If that thing can survive 800k km in S.A. then I think the Princess should be able to survive one little expedition in venezuela this summer ;) heck I'll even offer to drive

That is one awesome truck, how does he keep it in such good condition? Is it featured in any of those videos?

That rig is awesome!

Do you know exactly how much of the body he removed?

Bear in mind that labor is dirt cheap in Venezuela, so that truck has seen a LOT of upgrades throughout its hard life. It first used to be green, then metallic beige, now orange. It's probably been reupholstered a couple of times, and the carpet was replaced by heavy duty rubber mats *years* ago...

I actually have a (poor) copy of that infamous expedition to Manapiare where you can see that truck...Rustycruiser has seen it several times!

Is that the grainy video (circa 1996) with the trucks crossing the ravines using the home made bridge made by pilling small logs on top of the trees dropped over the ravine? (Holy run on sentance, Batman!) :D If so, that is one cool video. I remember the first time I saw it "many" years ago, and it still blows my mind today. What a trip that was.

Aye, that's the one. My favorite part is at the end, when they list the damage suffered by the expedition's Land Cruisers. Only one of 12 had the winshield still, only a handful of winches still worked. Smashed roof racks, ripped up sheetmetal, bashed lights, and a LOT of broken parts.

Henry, that is one of the baddest 60's I've ever seen. Is the work really as clean as it looks in that pic? Bobbed is cool.......:smokin:

That picture is in fact from that expedition...probably from the start, that's one of the FJ40's that rolled and got smeared on a ravine. The owner, Ricardo Siso, now has a *super-modified* FZJ70 soft-top, which he just rolled a couple of weeks ago in the Pantanal in Brasil.

Sorry if I'm offending you, Sixty, now you know how I feel when you guys are talking about the Rubicon, Moab, Clayton, the Hammers and Florence Junction while I rot here here in the God-Forsaken East Coast! :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

As for the bobbing of Renzo's truck, YES, it's as clean as it looks, I remember when it was being done, it was the first time I saw complicated body work. Most of the joints where done with lead/tin, the old-fashioned way, that is definitely not a bondo queen. Keep in mind that bodywork is CHEAP in Venezuela because of the low cost of labor, and the abundance of trained bodymen. Forget panel replacement down there, if you need a new hood, someone will make it out of a sheet of metal with a torch, a spot welder, 15 different dollies and 20 different hammers...

I'm deeply offended!!!! but I think you know what will help ease my offense ;)

besides, we're flooded w/ videos & pics of "the Rubicon, Moab, Clayton, the Hammers and Florence Junction" but those videos you guys are talking about are "X-tra Special" & most cannot be bought very easily, especially w/ our limited spanish vocabulary. :crybaby2:

But like I said w/ a little work from you, my whining could be silenced forever (well, for a few days atleast) :smokin:
