I am getting everything together to SAS my truck, but I am have one hell of hard time finding an DANA 44 around my parts that will work. So I got thinking well about a DANA 60? Can anyone help tell me what trucks I should look for that have a driver side diff and Dana 60 upfront that I might find at the junk yards? I want trying to find something that is close in dimensions to 80's waggy axle. Thank you.

There was someone on here from TTORA with D60's F/R. He could tell what he got them from.

All Ford and newer wagoneers have left side diffs, but why go left side. Why not adapt your trans to a gear driven case and run a right side diff. This way you can go with dual cases.

Marlin makes a tacoma adapter so that dual cases with the stock, drivers side drop, t-case and one of the 4cyl boxes can work together. He's even sold a few.
And the chain vs. gear argument is getting old now too considering that noone has broken a chain case to date, even with 4:1 in front of it.
The dude doing D60 F/R isn't done. The shop that's doing it for him lost a few important employees. And now he's going to run a pass side drop D60 with old toy cases. I don't think he went junkyard hopping to find his axles either.
Did you try car-parts.com to find your axle? Just a thought.

I do not know what the deal is around here but finding a yard that will both talk to you and have front axles is rare. I live in Okahoma and thought, this is going to be easy to find the parts. Well I have been looking for 4 months now with no luck.

Just about all if the F350 ford frontends will work, but they arent even gonna be close to the 61-62" width your gonna need for the tacoma. Most are gonna be in the 67-69" range, you could either have them cut or run them full width like I am. Wider is better!! :p It is just a thought, but what size tires are you going to be running? From what I have seen if your running anything less than a 37" your gonna be draggin that massive pumpkin over everything. Tankoma definately has the right idea going with his SAS, lots O' tire with small springs. You can see that same idea taken to extremes with the post called "bigger and slower than ever!" If you are sold on the D60F, Dave still has several ford frontends for sale. He can be reached at 205-251-5318, The cost will probably be around $1250
