About six months ago there was an article in one of the magazines about a new tool for boring dana 60 spindles so you can fit 35 spline shafts. If anybody has that article or is familiar with this tool please help me out! I need ordering information so I can buy one.
Are there any other good options for fitting 35 spline shafts through these spindles? I have been told there is only one place in Salt Lake that can do it, and they have to cut the spindles off and then weld them back on.

I already sent you the info Ghetto but the tool was $300 the $83.38 was just for the bit they had to replace...my only concern is that the article said they bored it out to 1.508 inches and I thought you were supposed to bore it to 1.6" the shafts they used were the yukon which supposedly necked down to 1.46" but really they were 1.51" and they had to have ORU turn them down to 1.5" so they would work??? Just some food for thought:D

The axles that need to fit are Yukon axles. I would hate to spend 300 dollars on a tool and still not be able to fit the axles.

I to cut the spindles off to bore them out since I do them on the lathe. I bore them out to 1.6 to be sure they don't rub because the Moser axles are at least 1.5 where the dutchman are machined down so they are no bigger than 1.5 and probably smaller.

It looks like the guy in Salt Lake that does them charges $175 to cut em off, bore em, and weld em back on. I just don't think I want some joker cutting my spindles off. I think I would rather buy the tool that can do it without cutting the spindle off, then charge people to do the same and make my money back.
