Contemplating getting a Sammi for my next trail rig, always been intrigued by them. I'm just curious...at 6'4" do you think I'll fit? Went to look at 1 on used car lot but the place was closed and Sammi locked.

Any other tall folk with Sammi's out there?

Locked Samurai?

It must have been a hard-top:D

CSR is easily 6'4" (although very lean)and is comfy in his Sam. He swapped in some late-model seats & did some modifying of the seat mounts. Scroll down to the "CSR" post below, and then go to the site with the additional pictures - there's one of his profile. I think it is #7.

with the seat pushed back all the way there should be *just* enough fore/aft leg room (unless you have mutant long legs:D )
and there's plenty of headroom,(on the soft tops) so you can even raise the seat UP by a couple inches.(watch the targa bar brace though, even with padding you can hit it *occasionally*)makes for much less cramped legs (*little* bit of a squeeze under the steering wheel when getting in, but it's worth it to me)
the ONLY thing is the left elbow room- it's a little claustrophobic until you get used to it, but i like to keep my window down all the time anyway......

oh, ya-i always clack my right knee into the corner of the lower dash when getting in, i don't know WHAT the hell these guys do with 'cages, that go down right beside it!!!

you should fit fine! I am 6'4 and 220 lbs. and with the seat moved back there isn't much problem except for trying to get out of the RCI's with little room between you and the steering wheel!
Hope you find one for a good $

Hee Hee..no it was a soft top and I did stand there for a good 5 minutes looking at that soft top and boy was I tempted :D Finally I decided that B&E into a locked truck on a busy Austin intersection on lunch break maybe wasn't the smartest plan ;)

Thanks for all the input. I sorta figured I would but thought I would ask, and will still test fit. However I once owned a Fiero so Im pretty good at wedging myself in small vehicles.

Re mention of a "good price", around what range should I be expecting? This one was labeled a ridiculous price on windshild, I would probably go in with 1/3rd the amount in cash and give a take-it-or-leave-it proposition. Also..any years better then others or any other things to look for?

A buddy of mine is 6'7" and he fits in his fine. I've driven it plenty of times and I'm 6'3". Actually I've been thinking about getting rid of the YJ and buying a trail only sammy to build the fawk out of and beat to a pulp :D. Going to buy a daily driver soon so why not? :p

Don't wear shoes, that'll give ya another inch or so! If you feel like doing the work, the Sidekick/Tracker is a lot roomier on the interior side. Problem is all that IFS crap you gotta torch out to make it worthy.
