Just what the title says. i know a lot of tires run a bit smaller than the # and i'm lookin for about a 37" tire.

My 38" TSL's are a hair under 38". Something like 37.6 or something. Check out the Interco site, all the info is there.

instead of "all the info is there" it should read: "all the info there sucks" almost all there numbers are inaccurate.

Well, I can say that the 38" TSL is what they say. This post came up awhile ago and for shits and giggles, I grabbed our 48" digital calipers and took a measurement... 37.6"!  As for the rest... You got me!

This is a 38 x 12.50 SX next to a 38.5 x 14.50 SX

10" wheels, 5 PSI

This is the same time with a measuring tape on the 38.5 SX, so you can compare the two and see that the 38 x 12.50 is .5 to 1" shorter.

I had 38X12.50/15 non-SX TSL's for several years on my mud racer. These tires never saw pavement - NEVER. The two I bought in '93 would slide through a 36.0" caliper held horzontally. The two I bought in '97 required a 1-finger push. Had mine on 15X10's, always at less than 15lbs. We used that rigid caliper for many years & never once had a 38X12.50/15 on ANY size rim that required more than a slight push to get it through (keep in mind, this is the EXACT same tire that was once labeled "13X37" right up until the date Interco came out with the 36). The 16.5" version is ~3/4" taller though.

Also for reference, I had a pair of 38.5X16 TSL's mounted on 15X15 rims. These were kinda tight in a 37" caliper. More than a 1-finger push, but not a lot more. On 10-12" rims, that size is quite a bit taller - right around 38".

OK now i'm gettin confused. If what Tex says is correct then i can fit the 38s i think, but a lot of you are saying they are bigger . just so we are all on the same page i'm lookin at the 38x12.5x15 TSL, NON SX on a 15x8 rim. what size rim did you have those 38x12.5x15s on Tex?

Mine were on 15X10's. However, I found that rim size didn't make a lot of difference on that particular tire (maybe 'cause they're 6-ply while some other TSL's are 8-ply). Buddy of mine put his on 15X7 stock Ford rims. BRAND NEW (still had the decals) at 15lbs, they slid right through our 36" caliper. Again, these being the 15" version & the 16.5" one being taller (have never had a chance to actually measure a 16" version).

FWIW, the 36X12.50/15 comes out about .5-.75" shorter than a 38X12.50. Just looking at both "at a glance", you can tell there's something "different" about the 38, but you actually have to park 'em side by side to really SEE the difference.
