Pics dont work but that sounds like a late model Waggy front end. I had a 86 waggy front end that matched those specs almost exactly

Okay, I have never had the chance to completely disassemble a D44 auto hub before so could someone give me a link or instruction on how to tear this axle down so I can beef it up?

Yep, looks like a waggy diff, but I've never seen one with that mount for a trac bar??? Are those spring center bolts drlled on center? All the waggy springs that I have seen are 2" off center.

No, the U bolts were not drilled into the pumpkin.

I'm not talking about the U bolts....The spring center bolts!!! That's the bolt that holds the springs leaves together. What I mean about centered is...distance from spring eye to center bolt equal from frt. to back?:smokin:

It is going to be off a Wagoneer. If you look closely you can see the front leaf springs are a bit off set. Most of the wagoneers around here are 80's model and have a trac bar bracket welded to the housing. The sway bar links to the u-bolt spring plate too I bet.
To pull the hub apart you will need to take a flathead screwdriver and pry off the chrome cap. Pull out the spring inside along with the automatic hub assembly. Take a 4 slot spindle nut socket to remove the nut, lock washer and the 2nd nut. The hub should then slide off (if you pull the brakes).

You may also encounter a c-clip on the spindle the easiest way to get it off is to get 2 screwdrivers one on each end of the clip...have a buddy hold one and then take a hammer or a mallet and hit the other drive and the clip should pop right off...

It surely looks like a waggy front end mine looked identicle to that...I had to grind the trac bar mount off(cause I didn't need it)...goodluck...its a good axle to start with:D

who cares what it is it doesnt belong under a fullsize pickup! Oh wait we already had that discusion and every one already agreed it was a full size jeep axle...

Seriously though why not sell that thing to a YJ owner and get a pickup axle for your truck?
