Can anyone tell me the stock gear ratio's though the diff years of explorer 4x4's
my friend has a explorer (forgot what year but its no newer then 97' for sure.) and blew the front diff, so she needs a new one. Just trying to figure out what ones will work and where to find one.

go to therangerstation.com, scroll down and they have charts w/ axles codes and the corrisponding gear ratios. it's probably 3.73.

they had 3.27's, 3.55's, 3.73's and 4.10's
Don't pay attention to the TRS Explorer codes........they are incorrect.
Use the codes that offroadkc linked to, or you can just look at the tag on the 8.8 in the rear. Remember, that in '95, the Explorer changed from a TTB front to SLA. If you are just changing the r&p, the 91-94 TTB used reverse cut D35s, while the 95-01 used standard cut D35 gears.
