I see 1 Ton trucks for $1000 or less with rust problems, etc. Seems like they could be a great source of a V8, tranny, transfer, axles, etc. Any specific years that are best overall? Anything that could be beat hard with stock parts? Kind of like a Toyota, but bigger :D

Chevy/GMC K30 trucks from '78-88 I believe.............might be earlier but I know '78's have Dana 60's (cuz I got one out of a '78).........those are safe years to try. :smokin:

biggest prob buying whole trucks is yah are left with the frame and body which are hard to move with no axles. plus i rent and i have enuff shit on the property. the town guy was busting my balls all last summer another vehicle will really get me in shit. i have 4 on the property now and another at my parents. i need to buy a house.

I'd stick with the 80 and later chevy's. 78 & 79 have puney neck down inner shafts.

There, that's the info I was looking for! I want to be able to use the parts without replacing tons of stuff, so I want to know about all the weak spots.

Vehicles sitting around ain't a problem, my dad has some property. I already have 2 Toyotas, 1 Subaru, 2 Escorts, 2 Cherokees and an Accord there, slowly sinking into the ground :D There will be a 3rd Toy there soon, I need to get it out of my friends' yard

Just found this in the Sac Bee

If anyone is looking for a 60, Offer him $ 1000 you could sell the Corp 14 for a couple hundred
and have a 60 for around $ 700

AXLES Dana 60, corp GM14, match 411 gears
$1200 b/ofr 628-3864 Posted: 1/10/02
