RDS has some 200 tdi versions.

I got a 2.5 NA diesel lt77s but I want to much for it.

Normal Ratios (http://members.shaw.ca/red90/gears.html#lt77) are 3.585 and 2.3008.

The ex-British army units have lower ratios. Not sure what they are. Have not found anyone who knows. Need to get off my lazy ass and measure.....

if you guys hang on about 4 hours 'till i get home, i've got the military parts manual with those gears in, i can slap up the part #'s here.

can't remember what the ratios are off the top of my head, but the "kit" you'll need consists of 1st gear, 2nd gear and a new lay shaft.

only certain military spec LT77's had these gears fitted BTW.

How do you tell wich ones have the lower ratios. I have two ex-mod LT77's.

the part #'s are:

FRC6690 gear 1st speed (32 teeth)
FRC6691 Gear 2nd speec (28 teeth)
FRC7600 Gearlayshaft cluster.

these box's can be ideintified by having suffix 51A (although i've only got the parts book for a specific contract number, so "other" suffix'd gearboxes could have the lowered gear ratios too.

i just looked through all the military workshop manuals and spare's books, and couldn't find any reference to the ratios, only the tooth count (but it doesn't show the tooth count for the layshaft!) but you might be able to work out a rough figure with the 28 and 32 teeth shown.

Hehe, I found the right person. Mr. Ashcroft had the tooth count available :D

"the military box is the 51A, pinion has 21teeth, layshaft 34T, 1st has 32T, layshaft 1st has 13T, 2nd has 28T, layshaft 2nd has 18T,"

That gives 34/21 * 32/13 = 3.985 first
34/21 * 28/18 = 2.519 second

Ratios are almost the same as an LT95. 11% lower than the standard 1st, 18% lower than the 300TDI R380 and 20% lower than the V8 R380. For comparison, going to 4.1 R&Ps is a 15% change.
