ok heres the thing: I am not a mechanic by any means, I know that some of you know your stuff so before I go sink more money than I have to I want to know if this is something I can fix:

We were coming back on a trip and the ABS light on the top of the cluster and the BRAKE light on the bottom of the cluster came on. Any ideas on where to look or what to do???
or should I just take it into a shop and see if they can charge me up the @$$
Thanks

my bad, its a 1997 Izusu Rodeo V-6 Manual Trans

I unfortunatly have the exact same issue. I have read on the 4x4wire that these are the idiot lights that signal a bad ABS sensor.

So maybe if you order a new ABS sensor the problem will be repaired.

Probably will have to be a dealer item. I tryed to order it through 3 different parts stores and they didnt list it.

why worry about it?

did anything "functionally" change after the light came on?

my 95 has the abs light, brake light, u/s light .......................all on.

they are on because of a variety of mods..................you can just pull the fuse if it bothers you or pull the cluster and remove the bulbs. :D

IF you want to check it out...the ABS sensor is on top of the rear diff.......check the wires etc.also check the fuse for it. Maybe just a simple thing.

if the brakes are still working fine than its just a loose connection on the wires above the diff like matt said, but i've had the abs light come on when a blew a rear caliper and the brakes didn't work to well after that

PS Matt, those lights are on because the clip that holds the connector together broke when the third got shipped, so its just a loose connection there.
