I've been searching POR and other site tonight about my choices on TRE's. I am working on a YJ with full width dodge 44/60 and am useing a roggy 1 inch stepped arm tapered for a 7/8 TRE (don't know if its the shallow taper or the deep taper,,, Anyone know what he usually uses?) and will be useing rock stomper rods. and only going crossover not full hi steer.
so far it looks like the tie rod gets a ES2234r and ES2010L
and the drag link gets ES2026R and ES2027L
??
When i go to the machine shop i just need to tell them to ream out a 1.5 inch per foot taper into my tie rod end holes on the knuckle and the pitman arm right? Isn't there a starting measurement to go down from at 1.5 inches per foot? And for the ES2026 and 2027 the taper needs to go deeper so how does the machinist go about doing that?
And in a trail fix situation can you replace a 2234r with a 2010l or a 2026r with a 2027L?
I jest want to make sure the machineist know exactly what i need.
thanks for any help

Do i just measure the upper part up the TRE shaft where there are no threads and at the bottom of the shaft at the end of the threads and taper the hole at 1.5 per foot from the upper measurement to the lower measurement, Come on guys i need some help. It would really suck if the machineist put to big a hole in anything just cause of my dumbass not knowing what i'm talking about.
i need some help............please
thanks

1st-When it comes to tapering the exsisting Tie rod holes on the knuckle .....forget the "machine shop" go to www.snapon.com and order the tapered reamer (Model # R121) 1/2 to 1in. I think it's about 40.00......Do it yourself!!!
2nd-Trail fix yes the T-e-rod ends can be switched with the exact Same....only using the same part # for ench end because the diff. lengths of the Tie-rod ends will effect draglink/tierod lengths....
3rd-Now you sit down a drink a  knowing that your done it yourself!!!!!
:D
