How do my 5in skyjackers springs compare to others. Right now im runnin 35s with 2in downey shackles f/r. Front seems to flex great but rears are questionable...

I've not ever tried Skyjackers. I've heard from alot here that they aren't very good. Some have used a leaf or two of Skyjacker packs to help when they do the rears up front swap. On a heavier rig they might work better.

I have the 3" Softride rears. I used them on the rear of my 84 and now they are on the front of my 92. No complaints here.

I run the chevy 4" in the rear and 44044s front. I love them.

Of the mass produced springs I'm of the opinion that Skyjacker is the best. Why go that route when you can get some top notch springs (Allpro, atc.) for little more?

My rig had 7" Skyjacker springs all the way around. Talk about stiff!!!! They didn't flex worth a crap!!!

In my rebuilding process, I have removed 1 long ply from each pack which soften the springs up a lot! Lost about 2" of lift by doing so.

I have 5in skyjackers and what I did to get a little flex out of them was to take the overload spring out of the bottom and replaced it with a stock overload spring. The skyjacker overload has some arch to it and the stock toyota one is flat. I was finding out that I couldn't flex past the over load spring and now I can get them flat.

Im thinking thats a shock problem.... Skyjackers are arguably one of the best total bolt on/mass produced springs, IMO. (Next to like AP, which is only 'sort of' bolt on and 'sort of' mass produced)

So would there be a huge difference in a 5in. allpro or AOR front spring? I know Im definately gonna switch rear springs....What do you think the ride height will be if I kept the skyjackers up front and 5in AP rears. Would they be similar in ride height?

I had a buddy buy the Sky Jacker lift for his and they sucked. I used to have the Pro-Comp lift... Sky 6" lift and my old Pro-comp were 4.5" of lift. But then again what did I know back then.... :flipoff2:

Non the less that was my experience with his set.

I run the Alcan orbit eye's in the front with Chevy 1 ton in the rear!

I have been impressed by the Alcan AOR orbit Eye's.

Hey OOPS... Was that pic taken in Hollister Hills?

I had sky jacker 5" f&r I bent both rears went to stock rears w/ 3" block and it sets level. but it rides like a 1 ton truck and doesn't flex worth a sh**

Doesn't really answer my question......will the ride height be similar in a 5"skyjack frt & a 5" AP rear?

44044's in the rear? They'd be too short and and would be stiff as fawk, unless you drive with a v8 in the rear of your truck everywhere. :flipoff2: Go with chevies for the rear.

Im not sure about the All Pro 5 rear. I am using the All Pro 5 front after on trip they are nearly flat and they had a lot of arch before the run. Also they did not invert on the run because my shocks bottom out where the springs are flat.

Deaver makes the best leaf springs that I have ever used, and they have started making some rock-crawling specific Toyota springs. I saw one of the first sets being installed recently on a yellow Formula Toy at their shop.

We run their 62" springs on the rear of one Tacoma, and their bolt-in/Donahoe springs on the rear of another. We also just installed one of their first sets of spring-over YJ springs on a CJ7.

Custom springs are expensive by comparison, but I they're a great value when you consider the ride quality and performance.
