Well I was under the heep tonight and the drivers side axle tube is pulled 1/4" out of the diff housing . when i bought this axle (bought it geared for cheap) the tube was welded to the diff housing. not to long ago that weld cracked and the tube was at an angle. now it is pulling out.

Heres the good part. Tomorrow I am driving to Pa then thurs night to VT.

Anyone want to start a betting pool on where my Jeep breaks. NJ PA NY VT or WILL IT MAKE IT OUT ALIVE???

All proceeds go to a new axle.

Maybe Ill just weld the shit out of it when im at the machine shop tomorrow. hahaha :flipoff2: my D35:flipoff2:

Yeah, you just cant go wrong with a D35, its a hell of an axle assembly.:flipoff2: And the more money you spend on them,..the better they get.

Driving on the highway with a separated tube sounds like a genius move. Darwin award potential here. With the tube separating, you stand a good chance of the axle shaft leaving the vehicle suddenly.

Welding isn't likely to help unfortunately. I doubt you could get the tube back where it belongs since it should be bent at the housing end.

Stay off the road, or find another vehicle to drive, and swap out the D35... I know I wish I would have done that with mine...

Well all you FAWKIN JACKASS's no I'm not a jack ass and stupid. Yeah I drove on it and yeah it was fine. But before I drove I checked it out good.

And for all you who forgot your D35 101 it is a c clip. In order for the tube to separate the c clip and axle shaft hae to pull the side spider gear through the carrier and out of hte diff houseing. Not Likely. So sid on that and rotate. :flipoff2:

Besides the fact im sure you never ever ever drive your jeep when something was broken on it.

So lets all drink a few  and chill.

Maybe you didnt pick up on the sarcasm in the post
:p

so your relying on that little C clip to hold your whole rear end together.

Did you realize that one of the reasons people get rid of that rear end is to get rid of the C clip because they break all the time :D

I'll have to second that. Thats exactly what I was thinking while reading this thread...

Maybe we havn't seen too many C-clips in our day?

nah it is fine. didnt move. I played with it agina tonight. it seems good for now. I fabbed up the old track bar( found it in the back of the basement) so it cant pull out.

But in all reality the cclip is all that holds that axle in normally. if that breaks on the road you are f'd either way.

Anyways chill all. Ill be fabbing some sort of a rear after i get my $ for the rock rails im makeing up for some peeps.
