unimogken 04-02-2004, 09:44 AM Got any pics to enlarge of it after the SAS?
Nice pedals. :flipoff2:
I don't like the spring mounts, they look too long or something, otherwise awsome!

I'm not sure but he may have his shackles in the front.
Hillclimber 04-02-2004, 12:50 PM Yah hes got 9" long shackels in the front. I dont think that helps the steering at highway speeds.
Kinetic 04-02-2004, 01:33 PM Booty-Fab indeed :shaking:

McSoo 04-02-2004, 08:23 PM 9" long shackles in front?!?!?! I'm glad he's all the way over in TN!
onlyonedr 04-02-2004, 08:53 PM Like I said in another forum yesterday that someone else posted on for you, I applaud the hard work but condemn the setup.
Front-hanging shackles and no High-steer setup. You have effectively reduced the approach angle on the truck by using springs that are so flat and shackles that are so long in the front. There is a reason why CJ and YJ owners spend the money on shackle reversal kits. Also that drag link will become a pretzle after some hard wheeling.
Keep up the good work and get the bugs out  I am glad to see more people wrenching on Nissans!
Yah, good luck mr. and remember the people here want to help not hurt, so don't cry. :flipoff2:

Not all of us TN guys fuck stuff up that badly. :flipoff2: It just seems to be the vast majority that do
76Cruiser 04-05-2004, 10:12 AM At least he modded his shit himself.:flipoff2:
feuerrader4nic 04-06-2004, 06:04 AM I guess I will try the shackles on the back and see what happens.
Thanks for the help.:flipoff2:

:flipoff2: I do most of my own shit. I just dont trust my own welds yet. :p
feuerrader4nic 04-06-2004, 09:31 AM I do all of my shit, I don't trust my welds either Kinetic. So I let Dad do it.
Dude, you have to research this shit before doing it. You made it to the right place, now use the search button and look for sas info from the gods of sas. I suggest the Toyota forum, because thier chit is proven, and it matches what we have pretty closely. I copied thier stuff almost exactely, and my results are freaking killer! Now say it with me, "I will use the search button" good, now you will be ok.:D
feuerrader4nic 04-07-2004, 09:19 AM "I will use the search button"
I know what I got to reserch. Y'all just don't see me do it. Maybe I should write a journal of everything I do??? just kidding
I'll keep researching though! Thanks.
Kinetic 04-07-2004, 09:34 AM
You have more to research than you think
System-f 04-08-2004, 06:03 PM fuck it .. take it out there OFFROAD AWAY FROM BYSTANDARDS and wheel the hell out of it...
I agree with Chris good job for the doing the work...reverse the springs
feuerrader4nic 04-09-2004, 06:52 AM After I reverse the shackles, I'm going to beat the hell out of it for a day to see if anything breaks, just might, but I will do it on my land so I will be close to civilization.
FCwheeler 04-10-2004, 01:58 PM Doing your own sas is good work... I personally dont care for the shackle lenght, but if it works for you, and you mostly just wheel it...fine. What i would do, if it was my rig, is re-work your settup for reverese shackles and shorter hangers. Then remove the body lift, and get after it with the sawzall. IMHO, you have more lift than you need for the rubber you are running, which translates into unnecssary instability. Height isnt always your friend, as 90% of the time, it is clearance at the diff that matters most, and high COG is bad, especialy for trails which envolve lots of sidehilling. I am not trying to hate on your work just giving my opinion.
feuerrader4nic 04-12-2004, 07:16 AM Yeah, I know what your saying. I planned all along to shorten the shackles, but now I am going to spend a weekend reversing them. Bigger tires are coming and the body lift might come off.
supazuk94 06-26-2004, 03:57 AM hey what danna 44 did you use ??? steering componets any info will help one of my ship mates wasted his pathfinders front end and I'm looking at helping him sas it any help would be cool

Look for a non vacume accuated Wagoneer D44 if you want to do leaf springs. The best way to do steering is with Chevy flat top knuckles and crossover/histeer. Some of the guys have used inverted T steering, but some are having bump steer problems, moving the steering box forward could always help.
Early Bronco D44s with Chevy flattops and outters are great if you want to do a radius am setup. Head over to www.nissan4wheelers.com/6/ubb.x and look at the SAS that Datz510 is doing (in the Skidplate Alley section).
Also, if you dont care about width a High pinion ford D44 would work well.
