I installed a weber carb on my 2f and have some genereal quesitons.

#1. I am not sure if it is the 38 mm or the 32/36. Is there any way to tell? I think it is the 38mm.

#2. Is there a manual for the carb that is either on-line or is there a place I can purchase one?

#3. Elec fuel pump vs stock.... I have the stock pump on it now and it seems to work fine. Is there any reason to go to the electric one, other than blocking off the weap hole so the engine doesn't take water throught the stock pump.

#4. Is there a way to fine tune the carb. There are 2 set screws on each side. The carb came off of a 2f, so I didn't mess with them. Is there a general # of turns out to get it to run at its max power/ proper air/fuel mixture?

1.The 38/38 have a shaft for each butterfly, with two pie shaped gears meshing them together. The 32/36 will have a linkage between the two that allows the primary to open sooner than the secondary.
2.There is a manual from a book company (Haynes?) you might find at better bookstore for tuning Webers, but it is more geared towards sidedrafts and bigger down drafts. Best bet for tuning is to call a race shop or old english car or bmw shop. They will likely be able to tune them or refer you to a shop to do it.
3.The stock pump is good, but I found a pressure regulator helped with the increase pressured at higher RPMS that made the carb run a bit rich...

I will go and check the weber book at the speed shop. Anyone have a 38mm manual that came with there carb? Possible copy/post for tuneing.

There is only one place around here that might be able to tune it. It seems to run fine, I just don't want it to rich or to lean. Thanks.

The only tuning you can do from the outside with those screws is idle air mixture, and idle speed from a different screw. Have you checked out Redline Weber (http://www.redlineweber.com/HTML/Tech_Docs/DGAS_Outlaw/38_DGAS-Outlaw_Idle_adjustment.htm) ?

Hey Spaceghost: thanks for the Redline Weber site. I have a W/38 that I have adjusted by feel and seems to run ok, except poor gas mileage. Maybe this will help.
