Napa is quoting me $36.00 for a flywheel...brand new. This seems crazy, but that is what they are saying. I verified they were talking about a Manual, Flywheel (Not Auto flexplate), new for a 73 Bronco. Maybe they have a typo in their computer...Not sure but I will find out on Thursday.

Question...

Is $36.00 possible? And, my Bronco is a 71...could 73 be different. Everywhere I have inquired has indicated...Should be the same.

Pic of my flywheel...from Jeep section post:

My flywheel looked like that. The guy who turned it said dont worry, the cracks are only at the surface, and when i got it back, i couldnt detect any of the cracks. Flywheel works fine still. Just get it turned. :)

ARI 488120 just looked it up on my commercial account, my price was $33. give capitol clutch and brake a call for a price check and find out how much they will charge to turn yours.

The picture doesn't show it well. The cracks are deep. You can get a finger nail down into them. If a new one is only 36.00, why not replace it and not have to worry about it going :nuke:

I am sure turning would be nearly 36.00.

Well if you really can get a flywheel for $36 (i cant) and it is good quality, then sure, get a new one. However, mine was cracked as bad as yours (very common), and machining it took out the cracks. I paid $35 CDN to have my flywheel turned, so you should only have to pay like $20 maybe?
