I put a deader on my 20R and it doesn't point towards the cat converter it's angled towards the tranny:(, can anyone post up some pics of their headers from the underside of their p/u or 4 Runners

Sorry, I know this is from the top, but you can clearly see that it shoots straight back. And yeah, it is a 22RE. But it really does not matter now does it?

Dont have pics but mine did the same thing on a 22RE. I just cut the straight tube bolted both ends up and welded an angle into it. Headers suck to install.

Richard and myeyesore, what headers did you install that did this? Were they Downey?

I should be trail ready in about 2 to 3 weeks. I am picking up the TRE's today, and getting tube tomorrow for the TR and DL. Saturday I am setting up my rear R&P, and then hopefully next weekend, the transformation occurs. I am about 99% ready.

We can get together for those beers this week if you want. I got my cue in my truck all the time... ;) what beer do you like? PM me with your address and I can swing by tomorrow with your beer of choice. :p

Heres the best picture I've got. Mines a Thorley, instalation was a snap. Mine was angled a tad towards the tranny. The flange I made to mate to the header,I just cut it on the angle needed to get it going straight again. Welded it together, proceeded with the cat,Flowmaster and new tail pipe. Worked awesome

Kinda tricky to get my new tail pipe in the way I wanted. Tried to get everything up high and tight. Dought I'll ever rip this tail pipe off. Wraps up above the muffler, over the framerail and out the side of the bed in front of the rear tire.

Some muffler shops will bend you up a small peice if thats all you need. They've always got little scraps laying around. Ask them to bend a piece with a jog in it or a certain angle, bring it home and weld it in.

The muffler shop I deal with now told me I can't run my exhaust the way I wanted. Said it was impossable to get all the bends to line up and go up and over the frame. I then asked if he could sell me a few 90* bends and 4' of straight. He did and I came home and built it myself. After I got it done I took it up there to show him ANYTHINGS possable. He crawled under my truck and all I heard from him was DAMN THATS CRAZY. I don't see that mine is all that crazy,it's just not the same old tail pipe you see on every other truck

Mine is a pacesetter and did the same thing.... just like raptorman said, a little creavtive bending is in order. Notice the clearance between the tranny and flange? Had to actually tweek the header a wee bit.... forklift works nicely:p EDIT: also your 85 won't have the air injection so you may have to make some block off plates???
