: Finding Spark Plugs...
JMyerz 04-05-2004, 06:35 PM Mayne this belongs in newbie tech, not sure...
Out here in freaking Santa Barbara, all the NAPAs, Kragen, etc look at me funny when I request a NGK plug.
Where is a good online source for NGKs?
Thanks
Justin

JeepinCJ7 04-07-2004, 02:57 PM What about wires? Should I just run an Accel or similar aftermarket wire? Anyone know off hand what size to run?
96' RR 4.0.

What about them? Ask yourself if you really do need new wires...if the answer is yes, then go buy a Sport Compact Car magazine, find the largest, most neon, most expensive set advirtised, and buy two sets.

Well, lets see........My Rover has 126K+ on it. It still has the original wires. I would say that YES, I need to replace the wires. Nobody lists a replacement wire kit(even Pepboys  that you recommended). There are however, plenty of universal wire kits that those places sell. I'm not looking for Bling, but if Copper wires work better than Graphite in a RR, then that is what I want(even if they are bright yellow, or blue, or chrome!). I'm getting a misfire code, so I want to make sure that while I'm replacing plugs that the wires get replaced too. I have options from a 7mm wire to a 10.8mm wire.
Old Scout 04-07-2004, 04:07 PM I just made my own from an universal 8.8 Taylor kit.
Yea there clad in deep blue silicone! :D
JMyerz 04-07-2004, 09:34 PM Scotty,
Get a set of magnacores from offroadtuff.com they made a huge improvement in my disco.
I also run NGKs but some swear by Bosch.
The magnacores run about $67

Go back in the closet and dill yourself for a while. I said NGK plugs could be found at PepBoys, not wires for LR
Since your ineptitude extends to that of SEARCHING, why don't you try a number of places:
LR dealership
Rovers North
Atlantic British
British Pacific
To name a few places that would carry a replacement wire set. Yes, Magnecore carries a direct replacement, and there are a slew of universal replacements you could purchase. But have a friend come over to strip the wires and crimp the connectors for you. Your boyfriend would hate it if you calloused your hand...(or chipped a tooth crimping those connectors)

You're right, you did. However, when the question was asked about what wires to run, you break out a smart ass comment because you think that your funny.
"Since your ineptitude extends to that of SEARCHING, why don't you try a number of places:"
Dumbass, I did search. How the hell else would I know whether to ask whether Copper or Graphite wires would work best. Not only did I search this forum, but I ran a Google search as well. It still didn't answer my question. Thus the question here in a thread already pertaining to plugs.
"Yes, Magnecore carries a direct replacement, and there are a slew of universal replacements you could purchase."
See, this is a simple answer to a simple question. Direct, to the point, and helpful. And to think it only took two gay references to get there!
You don't need to be an asshole all the time do you?:flipoff2:

Yes, I do. :flipoff2:
Get the 10mm graphite core wires. Afterall, your RR is a race car.

Did you search?

Yup, I did. Even have the part number written down. Still doesn't mean I can't save a few bucks by buying an Accel wiring kit or similar kit. It was a simple question, requiring a simple answer. You went out of your way to be a dick and still are.............

DieLucas! is just mad because he's been on an epic 3-month journey to try to get his Range Rover running.
He's just conveniently taking his frustration out on you.
We all should have the privilige someday.
