I used the stock SM465 crossmember for the 77 3/4 ton truck I got it out of and cut the ends of it to match the angle of the frame and the welded angle iron perpendiculer to the ends that run along the frame and I bolted up through that to the stock holes with grade 8 bolts. I don't know when I could get some pics but maybe this will get your brain going.

How far below the frame does it hang? Good clearance??

Dean you sure do nice work.

Heres my junk. Its fabbed from 1/4" plate, and it has good angles so it rarely gets hung on anything. As soon as I get a chance to cut away some more tranny tunnel, I plan to raise it up 1 1/2", by removing the rectangle spacer.
From the looks of the pics, it doesnt look like Ive used the skid aspect of it much lately:eek: (Big Johnson was rough on it).
The T case mount is fabbed right into it, and recessed for obviouse reasons.
Its very tough, but also heavy, probabaly weighs nearly 90lbs

this is a picture of mine, it's not finished in this pic, C-clamps were removed later :) (i'm currently moving it up about 1 1/2" from this location and building a skid plate also.......

Check this one out, It's on Eric Ruhls. AMC 401, T18 & D20 in a YJ.
Fabbed by Scott @ Rockstomper. Must be nice to live a couple blocks away from Scott.
