This question will probablly iritate some folks but here goes.

I am maybe gonna buy a 4 runner with 5:29's and 33" tires. One of my friends tells me that at highway speeds I will burn up my motor. Do I need to go to 35's to keep this from happening or is it gonna really be a problem with 33's??

Thanx in advance

ya it will be high revving but thats what overdrive is for. buy it and then lift it and put some 39s on it. have fun.

Hell no you won't "burn it up" you might be running around 2700 RPM's though.....can't remember the 4cyl. days were a long time ago......get it and trade someone tires....I traded 33AT's for 35 TSL's when I bought my "new" 93 reg. cab.....straight up even.... :D

Go for it, we ran them that way for years, including lots of freeway miles. Toyota motors love to rev, mine had at least 100k of that type of running on it.
