I need to remove the mainshaft to get to the countershaft, but I want to save the bearings and such- since everything is in excellent shape. when putting back together, I'll be using a novak conversion mainshaft.

Does ANYONE have any drawings, directions, or scanned pictures from a manual that they can send me via email or post here?
I'd really appreciate it!
thanks

on the front of the tranny pull the bearing retainer/throwout sleeve off
take off the top cover
pull the input gear out ( let the needle bearings drop and fish them out later....)
remove the adapter or bearing retainer from the back of the trans.
wiggle the mainshaft back, remove the retaining clip, pull the output bearing off
pull the mainshaft up and out as a unit..... easy;)

I did it with a buddy a few weeks ago without any directions or previous experience. It's not hard the only thing I would be worried about putting in a new shaft is whether the play of the shaft is in spec, but I guess the directions from Novac will cover that. Here's a tip, to take the top cover off put it half way in reverse and the same for when you are reassembling it.

Good luck

Pull the input shaft with the tranmission tilted down at a major angle and the needle bearings may stay inside the input shaft.
