Maybe the ultimate setup for the TOYOTA axle? It would cost alot less than a TOY/D60 hybred.

depend on the quality of the axle shaft. using a warn cro-mo shaft it would be prety cool. one reason it would not be as good as a real 44 would be the limited turning radius of the closed toy knuckle.

Aren't Randy's R/P shafts are chromemoly? I wonder how much
more turning radius you could get when there are no birfs to worry about. Maybe I am trying to beat a dead horse, but I sure like my Toyota axles, and will get a hybred built someday if it comes to it.

Randy's shafts are chromemoly. If i remember right, he puts a 5 year warrenty on the the shafts (not the ears). I am looking into his kit also.

a toy axel will always be a toy axel. why waste 1000 dollars on a toy axel when you can have a set of D60's for the same amount?

ill shut up before this gets out of controll

Whay do people think the 60's are so cheap. yes, there are some out there that are getting them for a good deal (in stock form), but the majority of us have to pay top $$ for a set of 60's in good shape.
i'll get in line for a set of 60's for $1000 :flipoff2:

In Sacramento we have a insurance auction - www.iaai.com
I have seen some sweet deals on 60 equiped rigs there. A month or so ago ,there was a '79 1 ton ford with reverse cut front kingpin 60, and a floating rear 60 that I bid on. I dropped out at $700 and the guy got it for $725 and he was the only one bidding on it besides me. Not a bad deal I thought.

but really what are the chances of finding such a rig for 725...and then theres dealing with whats left, adapting those 60s to your rig...yadda,yadda,yadda. those yaddas ad up to time and $$$$

AS FAR AS GETTING 60's for 1000 a set i am getting 3 sets for 750 a set (at most) debating down to cheaper. so if any one would like to buy a set for 1000 ill sell 2 other sets.

by the way it took me all of 5 min to locate them at that price:flipoff2:

If I bought the birf eliminator kit and CTM u-joints to go with the ARB, 5.29's, hi-steer,and upgraded brakes, and wheel spacers I already have, I would have just under $2000. in my front toyota axle. I also would have the advantage of much less unsprung wieght, and a ton more diff clearance. Especially when it gets shaved. Last time I called Dyna trac, A comparable dana 60 was 4 grand. I run 35's at 222:1 and am going to 38's next week.

I would like my next set of tires to be 40's, untill then I'll run my birfields.

My next set of tires ARE 42's, and your Toyota axle even with all that junk will NEVER be a 60 :p

Thats the point, I don't want it to be a 60.

It's not like you ever broke the Toyota axle,,,,:flipoff2:

back to the topic.

a set of warn axles and ctm's would make a great toyota front axle. no it would not be a 35 spline 60 but none the less it would be a strong setup that would allow you to do harder obstacales than you can with birfs.

don't care who you are are what deal you find there is no way your gonna bolt in a 35 spline 60 in your rig for $1000. and unless you have 35 spline inner and outer axles then the only upgrade you really did was add weight and loose ground clearance.

You just gotta know who to call (boy am i a smart ass or what).
Serioulsy though, If they knew there was a large demand for these he would charge more.
