to run 38.5 to a 39.5" tire on a 86 blazer with a 4" suspension lift what else would need to be done to let the tires fit without really hitting anything.
i was thinking a 2" body lift and some fender cutting
would it work.

also with a 2" body lift, what would need to be done to the body? liek does anything neex to be extended? or is it kinda like a bolt on and go?

or dop i need a 6" suspension lift to fit these tires??

thanks for the help

Nice 1/4 mile numbers on the neon. That thing trailored?

Better to run a 8inch spring lift.

You could do a 6in suspens w a 2 to fit the 38s proably a 3in body fit 39s. The 4in with 2inbody will defiantley not fit:shaking: the tires they will rub like hell when turning and if u flex it up ur gona tear out a wheel well. Id personally go with a 8 or 10in suspension lift but i know how vehicle funds can be tight. IN regards to installing a body lift its pretty straight foward. You unbolt your old bodymounts jack up the body and put the spacers in. You have to install an extension on the steering shaft and cut the bottom half of your fan schroud off if you have on and want to keep it. Also bumpers must be relocated which can be a bitch but if ur handy its not too hard.

I ran a 4" lift and 37's without a whole lot of trimming. With fender trimming the right bumpstops and 6" total lift 38-39's should be no problem. Any one who tells you that you need 8"+ lift doesnt have the right bumpstops and is afraid of the sawzall. With the right shocks and slightly longer front shackles you won't lose any travel with dropped bumpstops (some people are afraid of bumpstops because they are afraid to lose flex, but your more likely to have shitty flex with high arch/stiff lift springs)

fawk body lifts!!

do a 6-8" youll need new drive shafts and steering corection but body lifts are bad. unless your a shown shine fag!

a body lift would need

a steering shaft lenghter

radiator brackets

a longer stock automatic shifter arm or a floor shifter

if you got a manual tranny you may need to make a bigger floor hole for the tranny and t-case shifters.

I have a '78 K-10 I'm planning on putting 38's under. I am planning on a 4" suspension with 1" body, then using zero rates for an extra inch, plus moving the axles 1.5" (forward in the front, back in the rear). Then I'll just trim to fit. I'm thinking it should work.

4wheeloffroad had a cool 70something blazer with a 4" front lift and shackle flip in back , cut the hell out of the fenders and fit 39"s fully stuffed. so i say fawk the body lift. oh and it looked cool. search www.4wheeloffroad.com for pics:flipoff2:

moving the front axle should definatly help, my 37's required almost Zero trimming on the front edge of the front fenders.
