I was looking for a pair of thorley tri-y headers for my 79 cj-5 with a 304. I was looking at the catalog at there website (304 tri-y) (http://www.thorleyheaders.com/jeep_headers.html), and was wondering if any of the applications would fit my year model because the 72-74 is for cjs only but the 72-92 is for no cjs at all. I had called them directly in california and i had a lady who didnt know anything about it. So can anyone help me out.

I know head man makes a set of headers for the 304, but to be honest I would stay with the stock manifolds and go a decent exhaust, You run into a lot less hassels that way.

Well that was what i was gonna fall back on if i couldnt find a solution to getting some tri- y 200 bucks cheaper but i didnt think they would do as good performance wise, only reason im goin headers is cause i have to many pin holes that i have had to seal up on my old headers, but is there a solution to my problem.
