: Rollcage Pics
Dennis 01-09-2002, 06:11 PM Its time for a rollcage for my Early Bronco. I would like to see some pics of others. I dont really want an exo, but I want to protect my windshield (after my nahgin) in a flop.
I kind of like this one. I don't thik I need it that elaborate. What has everyone else done?

dblue351 01-09-2002, 07:06 PM That looks sweet! I like how it goes throught the front fenders.
What is hanging out the back?
that's his tailgate down in back. that cage looks sweet. it appears to be allthe way down through the front fenders to the floor/frame(?)

i think he saw what i did. between the rear wheels, a wire or something hanging down:confused:
brad, your right. I didn't spot that.  beats the hell out of me what it is. lockable cable retainer for the spare tire/gas can rack for the back? Dunno. based on the shadows it shouldn't be a E-brake cable hanging. but then again?
I want to know what the 8-lug axles came from and how modified they are to get stuffed under that narrow body.
Eric
Patman 01-10-2002, 08:51 AM That picture is OOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDD
If I remember correctly those axles where full width 60's with custom offset hummer wheels.
There was an old write up of the last rebuild on TwistedAxle, But that was a year + ago, so I'm sure he's changed it again! :D

Hanson built that cage, which you obviously know from the pic.:D
Rich owns Hi-Tech powder coating in Salinas

Gordon 01-10-2002, 01:19 PM My cage is a similar concept outside the windshield frame and would be outside the top if I had one. I really like it. You can see the pics in the sticky pics of your rigs post, on page 2 of the post
welndmn 01-10-2002, 03:02 PM I would do the standard cage, then add an outside bar for the out side windsheild (new windshields are not getting any cheap BTW)
i would drive to bender-ville and have him whip some thing out, i was talking to him about it like 4 months ago

Looks like his fuel line with a inline fuel filter to me
rokcrln 01-12-2002, 07:40 AM My next one will be alot like Rich's. My last EB had the typ inside cage that I built and me and my x-brother in law think it worked just fine but I like the look of exo's and the added room inside is nice.
rokcrln 01-12-2002, 07:45 AM This was it 2 1/2 month's prior to the above. Sorry for the pic quality but it is a digital shot of an old still.

Wow, it looks like that cage colapsted. Where did it give? What could have prevented it?
rokcrln 01-12-2002, 06:48 PM The cage only colapsted 1 1/4" and sunk in the sand about a 1'-0". I was very happy how well it held up. The pic is after an end over end and that was after a 30'-0" launch!

Rubicrawler 01-14-2002, 09:10 PM Gordon- I love the cage! I know it's off topic, but, what year springs are you running? F150's?
Gordon 01-15-2002, 10:42 AM Nope those are EB springs. I just bobbed the bed which is why they hang out. I don't like how the springs hang bellow the bumper, going forward I slide off them fine but I have gotten hung up on them a couple times trying to back up. I just got some coilovers to solve that problem.

Thanks for the 411!
