I'm down to the frame and I wanted to get some ideas on how to protect the inside of my 84' cj frame. What or how is the best way to prevent the rust on the inside?

spray it with some good paint, or use POR 15

Brad,
I have NFI how you are going to get good coverage of the inside of the boxed frame with paint......

ngermonprez,
Planing to hot dip galvanise my wagon frame when ready...like a boat trailer :D

I read somewhere about a dude that plugged every conceivable hole in his frame, poured in some POR-15, and then flopped the frame around until the insides were thoroughly coated...

here's a trick way:

get one of those pump-up weed sprayers. you can easily modify the wand to make it longer. put in some good paint, which you may or may not need to thin, stick the lengthened wand in your frame rail, and go to work.

I did this, but with Hammerite, and duct tape over all the holes. Once it's all sloshed around, you peel the tape off one of the holes, and let the excess drain out. I thinned the Hammerite to make sure it flowed everywhere.

Another trick I've heard of is to run two ropes or wires through the frame.

Once they're in place, soak a rag in paint and tie it to the end of one of the wires. Then you drag the paint soaked rag through the framerail.

On the return trip (you've gotta do this several times per side from both directions) tie your no-longer-in-the-frame wire to the rag as well, so it gets dragged back through. That way, you always keep one wire in the frame to drag the rag through with.

Confusing, eh?
