: Need a way to tell 9" ratios ?

Hi me & my cousin have been looking for some new axles for his truck & I am shure that there is a chart on the web somewhere to de code those darn tags.

I dont' know about 9" ring gears, but Dana gears have a set of numbers on the outside of the ring gear. You divide the larger one by the smaller one. So if it read "41 - 10" it would be 4.10 gears. FYI: the 41 would be the number of teeth on the ring gear and the 10 would be the number of teeth on the pinion.
