: E-Brake cable on yota axle swap
zukin 04-10-2004, 09:15 PM Search not working so bite me:flipoff2:
My e-brake cable is sitting right on top of rear springs with the yota axle swap.
Any fabs or fixes for this?
Tintop 04-10-2004, 10:33 PM don't run the ebrake cable :D
kd7srj 04-11-2004, 02:56 AM well if you absolutely NEED the ebrake to work then cut the ebrake arms and extend them about 1 inch to clear the leafs with a trusty welder of your choice ....ps this is what i did....so i am not talking shizzat:flipoff2:
Rockrat 04-11-2004, 06:35 AM Also the sidekick e-cable will work without mod..
kd7srj 04-11-2004, 03:57 PM I used the sammi cable but had to backoff the adjuster to accomodate the extra width of the rear axle when i pull the brake on it feels like the brake isnt working but it will not move

You say, to extend the arm that is under the floor to give more travel to it?
zukin 04-12-2004, 03:20 PM My problem is that it holds no problem but the cable lays right on top of the sring.
I am afraid that when it flexes it wil pull the cable.
Does the sidekick cable help with this?
Rockrat 04-12-2004, 04:33 PM Ok now I understand what you are talking about. make/weld a tab either taller or lower then the spring.

Thanks... Thats what I figured I would have to do.
Just wanted to know if someone had some other nifty little trick.
Gonzalo Bravo 04-13-2004, 06:18 AM My problem cames from the fact that the Samurai handle travel is not enough to reach the Toy E-brake travel at drums.

thats where the side kick cable comes in handy, it is longer..

Ok, but it is not the problem I have. I even fabricate a kind of adapters the reach the length needed, but I can not reach the needed travel. In other words, if a leave the drums arms resting, when I fully pull the E Brake the brake shoes do not stop the drum, and if I leave the the brakes arms a little pulled, I can brake with Ebrake, but shoes start heating due to constant contact with drums.
In other words, my Ebrake cable do not has enough travel to provide travel needed on drums.

Hey Rockrat
Is this the whole assembly (sp) i will need to put an E-brake on a samurai that i'm putting toy axles under. dose it all bolt on? just take the old samurai one off and put the sidekick one on and no moding?
