I still dont know my way around the Sacto area.

Where would be the closest place to Roseville, that I could weigh my Jeep. Any recyceling centers, or dumps or???? that you know of that has a scale. I dont know of any truck stops in the nearby area, or I would just drive out to one.
Any ideas??
Thanks

I weigh my junk at the fruit growers assn. in Diamond Springs. Missouri flat rd. Don't know of any closer, but I'm sure there are a few.

Isn't there a transfer station in South Placer? I know there is one on Roseville Rd., just about a block west of Watt Ave. It would be a drive, but the dump on Grant Line Rd has a scale. You know where I live, it takes me about 25 mins to get there.

I have free access to a vehicle scale. If you need a stamped certificate for DMV the weightmaster only changes 6.00 for the cert and nada for just a figure. It is in Stockton, sorry. :usa:

Fawkin newbie to sacramento :flipoff2:

H8, there are scales on the way to J&W. Right after the bend in the road the first yard is a railroad dismantling yard. They have scales right next to the street. Think its like $6 to get weighed.

Central 4Wd in Sac has a scale, don't know how much, if any, they charge.

Seen a few people there with DMV slips getting their stuff weighed.

Damn you local guys, are alright,
Thanks for the replys, I should be able to figure it out from here.
I think Ill drive it over to the salvage yard by J&W. and see just how fat the Jeep really is.

What's up!!!! Either go to the old Berry street mall on Harding blvd, or youcan also go to the Dobbas Yard off North Antelope by the railyard. Both places will let you weigh for free as long as you don't need a certified slip.

Jeff, most moving companies have scales. They weigh the truck
before and after they put your stuff in it.

The dump on harding

I went to the one, on harding. No charge, just drive up and read the digital.
But now for the sad truth,... 4620 lbs, with a full tank of gas and my fat ass in the driver seat. So if we subtract the 120 lbs that I weigh:rolleyes:. The rig is heavier than I thought, at about 4400 lbs, I was hoping that I had it down to 4000-4100 lbs. I am using heavier sheet metal (1/8") in the rear tub, than I wanted to use, and that stuff is heavy. I think I can trim a couple hundred more pounds, but not much more if I stay with keeping it street legal, and able to carry a back seat for my daughters.
