: IFS lift companies
b454rat 04-12-2004, 05:59 PM I think I decided not to do the SAS on my 97. I have too much going on, still need to finish the axle, get leave springs, cut all the IFS crap out, etc. Not to mention I drive this everyday, and can't be without a vehicle, and I don't think that the SAS is gonna take a weekend to do, there is ALWAYS something that wasn't anticipated, so I'm left hanging. This isn't gonna be a wheeling truck, just d/d and tow rig. Only off road this will see is when dumbasses fly off the road in the winter. Anyway, I still want to lift it, but after checking out some lifts, Tuff Country has a 4" for $1100, but says something about "not for trucks with two piece rear driveshafts". Since I have an ext. cab long box, I have the 2 peice shaft. Any reason why it is different than one piece? I searched, and didn't find anything imformative on 2500/3500 lifts, so who makes a good lift, complete, and doesn't cost first born. I only want to lift it 4", inless I can get a good lift reasonable. Heard Dick Cepek makes a decent lift??
convict 04-12-2004, 08:43 PM I have not heard of the dick cepek lift but I have a 1990 chevy 1500 with 6" lift (pro crap) and I hate it. The lift was cool at first but after a while shit just starts getting loose and then your alignment changes every time that you hit a bump. I dont have very much input other than do not go with Pro Comp. Just my 2 cents.
DarkEternal 04-12-2004, 09:07 PM The cepec k lift is very good for an IFS lift on an OB chevy, if your looking for a 6" its the way to go.
SlamChops 04-12-2004, 09:26 PM I would definitely have to agree with DarkEternal, all the guys I've heard of running it, fawkin love it, and it lasts.
Tennessee4x4 04-12-2004, 09:56 PM Hey b454rat its Tennessee4x4 or Mustangt9 on aim, Remember me telling you that I sold this stuff... Hit me up if you want the 6.5" Cepek Lift, I make others prices look like a joke. I'll even compare them for you, hit me up with an email at tennessee4x4@aol.com or aim at Mustangt9
blacksheep10 04-13-2004, 11:49 AM have you seen a 88-98 with a 4" lift on it. It still sets lower than a factory ford or dodge. It looks like you just turned up the torsions. Get the 6. I have put on a pro comp, don't go with them, it sucked

Hey, how's it going? If I ever decide what the hell Im gonna do, I will send you a pm or email. Now I'm thinking about selling the truck, get something alittle cheaper and doing the SAS in that. I don't really want to get rid of the axle or the ORU kit, they are both paid for, and not costing me any money just sitting there. OK, just to get things straight, the D/C is a good kit?? I didn't even look at ProCrap. I don't want to sell the truck, but if I ever want to pay some bills off, I need to get rid of the huge truck payment. Anyone want a really nice toy hauler??:D http://community.webshots.com/s/image11/7/42/79/128874279OEBdeL_ph.jpg If that don't work, hit the pics link, you'll find it there.
CRICKET 04-14-2004, 10:03 AM do not even waste your time with the ifs. truly you will have problems with any of them. do the sas and never look back. if your saying that you have the axle and an oru kit then borrow a buddys truck for the week and get it done in two weekends.
if yo need the kit or accessories i can direct you in the correct direction. DO NOT DO THE IFS KIT, keep it stock if its a daily driver! or do something that doesnt require high maintence.
